From Juan: In 2021, I began crafting this unique arrangement for small wind ensemble, which was premiered in November 2022 by the DC Winds — the woodwind section of the Accord Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. — in celebration of the composer’s 150th birthday. This adaptation preserves all the warmth, lyricism, and pastoral beauty of Vaughan Williams’ original score, reimagined with the color and sonority of a wind ensemble. It’s a fresh yet faithful tribute to one of England’s most beloved composers.
