Making Interpretive Decisions For Your Solo Repertoire

$20.00

Saturday, April 4, 2026

10:30 AM PT / 12:30 PM CT / 1:30 PM ET

Approx. 75 - 90 min

This event is open and encouraged for all musicians, but will have a string-repertoire focus using examples from instrumental solo repertoire (which may include works with and without accompaniment) at different levels from latebeginner to advanced-intermediate. Most information applied will be cross-transferable to most instrumental musicians, and/or will be translated or adapted to other instruments or voice when appropriate.

This session will be highly useful for those musicians looking to better understand and interpret their music into more musical performances and effects, or looking to find other ways to teach and transmit this information to others (students, audiences, presentations, composers, etc).

Repertoire will be shared on the screen, along with some how-to(s) of analyzation and mini-demonstrations and/or audio samples. There is no need to come with any materials unless you wish to take notes.

We will discuss things like phrasing; patterns; pacing; dynamics; historical, philosophical, and envisioning concepts and practices; and more as it applies to the works.

There may be time for a short Q & A at the end or for questions throughout.

DEADLINE to Register: Thursday, April 2nd (end of day)

We will reach out to you with a Zoom link prior to the event day. If the session is under-enrolled with fewer than two people, we will cancel or postpone the event, inform you, and refund your payment.
