Symphonic Poem/Descriptive Overture

This overture is an ode to the Ibizan corsairs (privateers), especially to the most prominent of them: Antoni Riquer Arabí (1773-1846).

The corsairs in Ibiza were brave sailors who, in turbulent times, defended the island from numerous pirate attacks, most often with fewer resources than their adversaries, but with great cunning and courage.
